The Medela Calma is designed exclusively as an option for breastfeeding mothers who wish to feed their babies expressed breast milk. The Calma feeding system was developed in collaboration with breastfeeding experts from the Hartmann Human Lactation Research Group at The University of Western Australia. Calma allows babies to suck, swallow and breathe in their own natural way:
- Your baby can drink, pause and breathe according to a natural rhythm and remain calm and relaxed.
- Your baby needs to create a vacuum to get the milk flowing.
- Your baby can maintain his natural sucking behavior.
